Fingerprint or face recognition — which suits our site?

Face recognition performs better where hands are gloved, wet or dirty, where throughput at shift change matters, or where contactless recording is preferred. Many sites use both: face terminals at industrial gates and fingerprint or card readers in offices.

Can attendance data feed our existing payroll system?

Accepted Answer

In most cases yes, either through a supported integration or a scheduled export in the format your payroll expects. MTT confirms what your payroll can accept during the survey rather than promising a direct link before checking, and documents the process so finance can repeat it every period.

Can one system cover several sites?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Terminals at different sites report to a central attendance database over the network or a secure link, so reporting and payroll export are consolidated. Sites with poor connectivity use terminals that buffer records locally and synchronise when the link returns.

Question 4

Do we need separate devices for attendance and door access?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily. Where access control is installed, the same credentials can serve both and specific readers can be designated as attendance points. Dedicated terminals are still used where a clocking queue would block a doorway or where the attendance point is nowhere near a controlled door.

Question 5

What happens if a terminal fails at shift change?

Accepted Answer

Records already stored on the device are retained and recovered, and attendance can be entered as an approved exception for the affected period. Under an AMC, MTT holds the terminal type as a planned replacement item so a failed unit is swapped rather than waiting on a fresh order.
